CS-428/9AT-mini2 is a converter that converts RS232 signals to RS422/RS485 signals. In many field applications, RS232’s short communication distance needs to be extended by converting it to RS422/RS485, which supports communication distances of up to 1.2km. Simply connecting CS-428/9AT-mini2 to an RS232 port enables RS422/RS485 communication immediately without installing additional software.
Designed based on SystemBase’s proprietary technology, CS-428/9AT-mini2 provides excellent reliability and delivers stable operation and outstanding performance even in harsh industrial environments.
CS-428/9AT-mini2 provides an Auto Toggling function for RS422/RS485 communication. This function prevents output signal collisions in RS422 multi-drop networks or RS485 networks. Since it is implemented at the hardware level, it operates automatically once the interface mode is set, allowing users to build a stable communication environment without complex control.
In RS485 environments, Non-Echo mode is generally used to disable input during data transmission and prevent signal collisions. Echo mode, on the other hand, receives transmitted data back again to verify whether the transmission was completed properly. Depending on the operating environment, users can select Echo or Non-Echo mode to implement more stable data communication.
4-wire RS485 supports the same wiring and usage method as RS422 multi-drop mode. Since recent communication ICs provide both RS422 and RS485 functions, it can be applied to various industrial environments without practical differences in use.
