Multi-4/USB COMBO (DB9M) is a serial communication adapter that makes it easy and fast to add serial communication ports to a system via USB. It supports USB Full-Speed and serial communication speeds up to 921.6Kbps, along with a ±15kV surge protector, delivering compatibility and stability.
The LED indicators for serial communication status complement the clean design while also serving as a useful debugging aid.
Multi-4/USB COMBO (DB9M) is used across a wide range of applications, including R&D, office automation, and factory automation. The DIP switch on the back allows easy selection of RS422 Point-to-Point mode or Multi-Drop mode, RS485 Echo mode or Non-Echo mode, and termination resistor on/off to suit the communication line conditions.
Multi-4/USB COMBO (DB9M) provides an Auto Toggling function for RS422/RS485 communication. This feature helps prevent electrical conflicts between output signals when configuring an RS422 multi-drop network or operating on an RS485 network.
Since it is implemented in hardware, simply setting the interface mode with the switch causes Auto Toggling to activate automatically for that mode, making it a convenient, hassle-free feature.
Multi-4/USB COMBO has a Slew Rate Limiting function that suppresses electromagnetic emissions during RS422/RS485 communication. When this function is enabled, the maximum communication speed is limited to 250Kbps.
It helps prevent and protect against malfunctions in equipment operating in EMI-sensitive environments such as hospitals and research facilities.
