The SB16C1052PCI is a PCI bus UART that integrates one of the largest transmit/receive FIFOs available, at 256 bytes, delivering overrun-free performance even at a communication speed of 921.6Kbps. Multi-4C/LPCI provides an auto toggling function for RS422/RS485 communication. This function helps prevent output signal collisions in RS485 networks and in RS422 multidrop configurations. Since the function is supported by hardware or software, it can be easily configured through the setup screen.
Multi-4C/LPCI features a slew rate limiting function for RS422/RS485 communication. Slew rate limiting helps suppress electromagnetic emissions during data transmission. Electrical noise generated during communication may cause sensitive equipment, such as medical devices, to malfunction or may interfere with accurate signal transmission.
